Im avid triathlete of many years. currently have acetabular tear in labrum in hip (doing prototherapy w prp) havent ran in 9 months w/o pain what r ur reccomendations for rehab and avoiding future injuries. also have 5/8 inch shorter leg. Thanks
Read my other response, also, read "Run With No Pain" at http://www.runwithnopain.com
Hi ben want to run forever without injury. Have a small tear in labrum trying to heal w prolo. What do you reccomend to keeps hips strong for furture running and my rehab?
Highly question whether it's a tear in your labrum vs. hip flexor tendonitis, which, most of the time, it is. Get your SI joint adjusted by a sports chiro.

Wildflower Triathlon is Approaching! Come Visit Ben's Team on April 28-May 2!
The Wildflower Triathlon Festival in beautiful Monterey County is quickly approaching, and the team at Pacific Elite Fitness, along with myself, will be camping there at the park from April 28-May 2.
E-signs has hooked us up with sweet Pacific Elite Fitness banners to bring, so you'll easily be able to recognize our Wildflower campsite come by and say hello. Don't be shy. Pull up a chair and introduce yourself to me and the other athletes. We'd love to meet you!
What is it that brings 8,000 athletes each year to Lake San Antonio for the AVIA Wildflower Triathlons Festival? Perhaps it is the chance to conquer "Nasty Grade", to complete a dream of finishing a triathlon, or maybe it's the opportunity to raise funds and awareness to help defeat Leukemia and Lymphoma - in honor of a friend or loved one.
The stories and motivations are as diverse as the athletes that compete over the 3-day weekend and as long lasting as the memories they create.
Please join us and make your own memories at the greatest triathlon festival in the world. See you there!

Last questions weren't intended to come across that way...I was trying to get an idea for what schedules look like for top short course age groupers...More specifically what do you think top AG's average running volume looks like for OLY distacne?
It varies so much. Read the interview database at http://www.slowtwitch.com ...probably closer to 30-40 miles per week avg.
Can't remember if you tried it, or not. What are you thoughts on P90X, worthwhile to integrate into a triathlon strength and conditioning program?
P90X is OK, but for getting ripped like a triathlete AND getting advanced nutrition support, Shape21 at http://www.shape21.com is better.
How many calories should I consume during a 2 1/2 hour bike ride of 50 miles? I was going to bring 1 Clif bar and 100 calories of Heed in my water bottle
Depends on your size, but generally about 250/hr for women and 300/hr for men.
